Pure rain water captured on our roofs, is filtered before going into the 39,000 gallon concrete cistern underneath our house and studios.  Leaving the cistern it is filtered twice by particle filters and then a UV light which kills andy organisms.  Soft, soft, soft clean and pure, we love to drink our water.  But this is all the water we have, so enjoy it, cherish it and please respect it’s finite quantity.  Though 39,000 gallons sounds like a lot, we share it with our  flower and vegetable gardens and orchard.  When we have a rainy season everything is lush and green and when the rain stops we try to keep everyone (all the plants) ticking over, but the garden starts to dry out.  Just like the real world, but without a tap into the municipal reservoir.  Come to think of it, those big cisterns are finite too.
